New look for 'friendly' book chain

The national roll-out of Paper Plus' multimillion-dollar new in-store look started in earnest in Tauranga this week after an "excellent" year for the books and stationery retailer.
A new streamlined design and layout, complete with black and green rebranding, for the region's seven stores marks a new chapter for New Zealand's number two bookseller, which returns to its Wellington roots next month for 25th birthday celebrations.

Chief executive Rob Smith said Tauranga was the first of 12 regional clusters to undergo the refurbishment. Eventually, 105 franchised Paper Plus stores will be made more "reader-friendly" with services such as Kiwibank and PostShop.
