Tom Hanks and Ron Howard Will Adapt Another of Those Dumb Dan Brown Books

        By on

Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon

Tom Hanks is in a pretty good place these days: beloved the world over, producing television movies and miniseries for his fellow history buffs, continuing to stretch and surprise in films like Captain Phillips and Cloud Atlas. And his pal and frequent collaborator (all the way back to Splash!) Ron Howard is keeping pretty busy himself, narrating and producing new Arrested Developments, doing historical projects of his own, directing passion projects like Rush. But these guys have bills to pay, just like the rest of us, so it’s time to do another Dan Brown movie.
To the delight of airplane readers the world over, the star and director will reteam for Inferno, their third adaptation of Brown’s work, following 2006’s The Da Vinci Code and 2009’s Angels and Demons. Hanks will reprise his role of Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon; Howard will presumably produce as well as direct.
Production is set to begin in April; construction will presumably begin on a new addition for Howard’s house the following August.
